Meet our Pastor, Rev. Peter Billings
Peter grew up in Mercer County, spent 6 years in rural PA, and now is happy to be back home in NJ. He resides in beautiful Frenchtown with his two wonderful little girls: Rosie and Sybil. You can often find the trio walking, scooting, or biking along the “river walk” or playing in a local park.
The call Peter feels to ministry is tightly bound to the positive experiences he had in youth group growing up at his home church in Lawrenceville, NJ. He says he was formed and fed there by the variety of opportunities he was given to volunteer and serve the church. Their ongoing mission to Haiti was especially influential to him. Peter feels called to teaching in the Church, and he draws on his experience as a classroom educator to do it. He studied psychology and education at The College of New Jersey (graduating in 2011). He then lived in Haiti for 2 years, teaching science in a private school. In 2014, he returned home to attend Princeton Theological Seminary where he received an M.Div.
Peter feels closest to God when participating in mission work and helping people. At home, much of his time is happily spent with his children, but in his down time, Peter likes to hike, bike, play games, watch movies, and blacksmith! As Rosie would tell you, Peter loves meeting neighbors and making new friends, and he is thrilled to do just that in the community of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church.
